David Beckham - Visits Helmand Province

The former England captain visited Camp Bastion in Helmand Province where he took part in a question-and-answer session, posed for pictures with servicemen and received a lesson in how to handle a heavy machine gun.

Beckham, who arrived at Camp Bastion on Friday night wearing a helmet and body armour, said: "To see the morale of the troops is really incredible. It first kind of hit me on the way over when we were on the military plane flying in to Afghanistan.

"You can see the faces, you can see obviously they know they are leaving their families, but they're so focused and they've got this look in their eyes that they're just so confident and just ready. That really is an unbelievable sight to see, and you feel it as well."

His day began yesterday with a 7.30am fried breakfast in the cookhouse and included a tour of the camp, which is currently home to 9,000 British soldiers. He was shown how to handle weaponry, given a metal detector demonstration and even scored a penalty on a makeshift goalmouth in the sand.

Beckham, 35, who is missing the World Cup through injury, said: "Just yesterday one of the troops was killed, and you feel it and you see the flags at half-mast and you feel the tension there. It really is, like I said, amazing to be around but you feel the love from everybody.

"It just really is scary work. These guys are the bravest people that I've ever met and it really is, it truly is, an honour to be here."

He has also paid tribute to fallen British soldiers during his visit.

The former England captain stood silently with his head bowed before the Camp Bastion memorial dedicated to those who have given their lives for their country as a Union flag flew at half mast.

He took time to read the full names, engraved on the brass plaques, of members of the UK Armed Forces who have fallen in service, complete with their regiment and date of death.

The British death toll since operations began in 2001 stands at 286.

Beckham paid his respects at the memorial during the second day of his visit to Camp Bastion in Helmand Province, where around 9,000 British soldiers are based.

Reflecting on his trip to Afghanistan, the 35-year-old said it had been "one of my best experiences of my whole life, to actually be here, to see first hand what you all go through.

"You have to leave your families, your friends, your loved ones, your kids, that must be hard."

He also spoke of his admiration for the comradeship among the troops.

He said: "I've represented my country on the field, and I've got great team mates and great friends, but every now and again I can let my team mates down on the field, you out here, you have to trust your friends, trust the people that you are next to, and your team mates, you don't get another chance. I have huge admiration for everything that you do, everything that you believe in, and everything that you are doing for our country; it's a real honour for me to be here."

Earlier Beckham met senior officers during breakfast, including Deputy National Contingency Commander of British Forces, Brigadier Angus Fay. He said: "I think it's been fantastic for the British forces that he has shown so much interest in the work we are doing. He is such an iconic figure to everyone of all ages and background. His effect on the morale has been phenomenal and we are very grateful for his commitment to us."

Rob Pattinson - Homme Greece

Heres is the interview from the Greek magazine Homme;

Q: When did you become aware of the hysteria surrounding your persona?
A: I had no idea of the hysteria surrounding Twilight, specially when we were filming the first movie. But when we came back to LA for some reshoots, we met 500 and more fans screaming and some girls were asking for autographs. There are a lot of girls who cry as well- but lately more and more want me to bite them, and that worries me a little bit. Once a girl asked me what she could do to get my attention. I told her to take her clothes off and she actually started to take her clothes off. Some people really would do anything…

Q. How do you feel about all this fame?
A. Overnight I wasn’t able to be a normal person anymore. I remember the day before the premiere of “Harry potter and the goblet of fire” I stood in Leicester Square and no one knew who I was. Suddenly people start screaming as soon as they see me. I mean, crazy!

Q. When did you decide to be an actor?
A. When I was 12, everything changed in my life. I went to a mixed school and I found out what it felt like to be cool. I discovered the hair gel as well. One day I was with my father in a restaurant and we were looking at some girls who had just ended their class in the local drama school. My father suggested I entered that school. I didn’t know exactly what his purposes were by suggesting me that, but I entered. It ended up being my only way out. I was among those guys who didn’t like doing their homework or studying. According to my teachers, I had great possibilities, but I was too lazy to find out. I really had no interest in school.

Q Do you like being interviewed?
A During interviews I’m extremely nervous. I don’t want to stay silent, because otherwise I would burst into tears owing to my nervousness. I just say the first thing that comes to mind. Of course the only way to protect your private life is to keep your mouth shut and not to talk about it with anyone. But, unfortunately, I have to talk. It’s in the contract.

Q If you had an actor to look up to, who would he be?
A Actors don’t seem to mention him that much, but I admit looking up to James Dean.

Q How do you feel when you face shows up on screen?
A I don’t like watching my movies. I hate seeing my face on screen because I am always worried about not being fake. I have always been worried about that and about looking like someone who fakes his emotions, I remember that when I was in my teens a girl that I was in a relationship with had cheated on me and so I tried to cry but it was a total failure. I couldn’t feel anything.

Q. Are you afraid of failure?
A. I think that when you fancy yourself as invincible, nothing matters. I understood that when , after I got my role in Harry Potter, everyone saw me as the hottest guy in all the UK. But then, all the noise ceases and no one cares. It’s important to understand that as soon as possible. In the end, no one cares about you.

Q. What do you think will happen when the twilight saga ends?
A. I don’t know. I’m a bit scared of the idea, to be honest.

Q. And if everything ended right now, how would you feel?
A. I don’t care. What is important to me right now is to be seen as a serious actor. I don’t want to be ashamed either of what I am or what I do.

Rob Pattinson's Stolen Hair !

I hope this story is not true, what sad muppet would steal his hair???

Robert Pattinson's Hair Stolen!

Robert Pattinson's Hair Stolen!
After having a trim, Rob fears his missing locks could be auctioned...

Robert Pattinson is reportedly worried his trademark locks will end up in an auction after some of his hair was stolen.

The Twilight actor, who is famous for his signature floppy brown hair which has won him an army of teenage female fans recently cut his hair for a new film role but was left 'devastated' when some of his freshly chopped hair myseriously disappeared.

A source explained: “Robert has had his hair cut short for a movie role but his discarded hair has gone missing,”

They added: “Someone collected it and Rob is concerned it will end up in some tacky auction. It's probably about the most valuable hair in showbiz!”

The 24-year old heartthrob who stars as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga is thought to have had his hair cut for his latest role as a student in new film Water For Elephants.

His new style has caused a stir amongst Twihard R-Pattz fans after reports of his new hair cut hit the internet.

Pattinson was even asked about his new hair in an interview with chat show host Ellen DeGeneres where he claimed he was amazed at the attention his new style had received.

He later joked with the American Idol judge that he was forced to have his hair cut because: “I got a terrible infestation of nits and I had to shave it all off,”

Matt Smith & Douglas Booth

Article from todays Sun Newspaper

DOCTOR Who is to snog Boy George, TV Biz can reveal.

New timelord Matt Smith, 27, will lock lips with actor Douglas Booth, 17.

The teenager starred as Culture Club frontman George in the film Worried About The Boy on BBC2 last Sunday. He and Matt play lovers in new drama Christopher And His Kind - about gay writer Christopher Isherwood.

Matt plays Isherwood who moves to decadent 1930s Berlin at the invitation of his pal, the poet WH Auden (Pip Carter). He meets a street cleaner played by Douglas.

The highbrow BBC2 film also features Lindsay Duncan and Toby Jones - who have both starred in Doctor Who.

It is being made in Ireland.

*OK, it's really the guy who played him on TV

Douglas Booth

Douglas grew up in Greenwich and Blackheath, before moving to Sevenoaks. By the age of 13 he was appearing in National Youth Music Theatre productions, where he was told it was better if he stopped playing rugby because if he ended up with a crushed face or cauliflower ears it wouldn't be great for his long-term career.
Douglas may find that his exotic looks are thanks to a half-Spanish, half-Dutch mother and English father. His mother is an artist, his father works in shipping for Citigroup and his sister is also an artist.

At 15, he signed with Curtis Brown (Robert Pattinson and Dev Patel's agent) and after GCSEs at Lingfield Notre Dame school near Sevenoaks, he moved to a nearby sixthform college for its drama department. Two months later he quit his AS levels in drama, media studies and English literature to act.

Last year at the London Film Festival Douglas made his big-screen debut in From Time to Time, a ghost story that jumps between 1944 and 1809, written and directed by Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) and starring Maggie Smith and Dominic West. Douglas plays Sefton, a young boy in the 1809 subplot who befriends the lead character on his time travels. Douglas said 'You don't see films like this any more; they're all like Transformers with loads of effects, but this reminds me of The Secret Garden or The Railway Children.'

Douglas himself is the picture of health and spends his holidays skiing in and mountain biking in the Alps and the Rockies. His CV says he can gallop and handle (small) jumps on horseback. He said 'I don't smoke and, hand on my heart, I've never, ever considered taking drugs. It just doesn't appeal. I was at Glastonbury last year and there were people popping pills all around me. I'm an actor and my body's my instrument. If I go and start mucking it up, I've got nothing left.'

Douglas has also starred in a Burberry ad campaign alongside the very lovely Emma Watson.

I have just watched Douglas star in Worried About the Boy the Biographical Drama on BBC2 in the UK. It is a story about Boy George the lead singer of 80's pop band Culture Club. His acting was so superb really enjoyed it and I loved the good old 80's soundtrack.

This is a pic of Douglas as Boy George.
The make - up is incredible, he really does look like Boy George, just a bit prettier !

Rob USA TODAY with Kristen & Taylor

Article in USATODAY

CHICAGO — Dashingly disheveled Robert Pattinson has an infectious, high-pitched laugh that would never do for his seductive vampire lover-boy, Edward Cullen.
Buff-and-polished Taylor Lautner is pocket-size compared with the looming stature of his werewolf counterpart, Jacob Black.
Casual yet cool Kristen Stewart can be a real chatterbox, unlike her moody Bella Swan, the high schooler in a romantic tug of war between these two supernatural objects of teen desire.

Lucky girl, right? "Yeah, but that's in the movies," Stewart says about bringing to life the modern-day Gothic heroine from the insanely popular Twilight book series (85 million copies sold so far). "I'm just the ultimate fan. If you read a story and you like it andconnect to it, it probably means you've inserted yourself in the story, and I get to do that on the most glorified level possible."

fantasy regularly blends with everyday reality for these three blazing-hot rising stars. It has taken a while for a cultural navigator like Oprah Winfrey to zero in on the heat behind the literary-spawned phenom. But on this early May morning, Twilight fever is raging at
Harpo Studios as the actors file into the backstage area after taping a show that aired Thursday. The occasion? Eclipse, the third chapter in an already billion-dollar worldwide franchise that arrives June 30.

The actors are unfazed by the shrieking adoration of a largely female audience, many in black Twilight T's — Team Edward and Team Jacob are duly represented — and all handpicked for their passion for the epic movie series based on author Stephanie Meyer's four-part saga.

"It's so nice sometimes, preaching to the converted," says Pattinson, 24, the London-born overnight sex symbol and primary reason for the screams. Thanks to his devoted worshipers, he has been elevated from a little-known Harry Potter supporting player to one of Time's 100 most influential people in the world in less than three years. They were out in force the night before at a Winfrey-sponsored screening of an unfinished print of Eclipse. Afterward, a firestorm of fan Tweets rife with "OMGs" gushed about the much-anticipated sequel to 2008's Twilight and last year's New Moon.

Once Stewart, 20, painstakingly signs Winfrey's guest book and Lautner, 18, stops practicing his grape-tossing parlor trick, the castmates settle into a buttery leather sofa to talk about such topics as the iconic moments that are re-created in Eclipse, run-ins with other celebrities and what the post-Twilight future holds.

The fame game

But, first, the pain of fame that comes from being on the paparazzi's most-wanted list is addressed. When New Moon opened last fall, barely a day went by without seeing a headline about Lautner and country cutie Taylor Swift or speculation on whether Pattison and Stewart are a real-life couple.

Although, lately, the frenzy has calmed somewhat, judging by the number of Twilight-free magazine covers at grocery checkouts. "I don't know if this is the actual reason why, but we have gotten better at hiding over the last year," Pattinson says.

"That's totally the reason," Stewart concurs. "They just make up a story to go along with the pictures. If they never get the picture, there's no story. We are just good hiders now."

Such subterfuge includes neither confirming nor denying that they are in a relationship. Yet there clearly is some sort of special connection between the two, what with their playful teasing and personal asides. Let's just say it wasn't Lautner who placed a hand on Pattinson's leg during a portion of the interview.

But all three take their Twilight-related duties to heart, whatever they might require. Stewart even leaps up in a panic at one point, fearing she misspelled a word in her salutation to Winfrey. She checks the book: "Believe — ie or ei?"

"I before e except after c," Pattinson responds. She checks. "Oh, yeah," she says with a triumphant fist pump.

Pattinson laughs. "I almost spelled Oprah wrong. I almost wrote Opera."

The actors are keen to know how Eclipse played to the crowd at the screening and are pleased to hear that every element has been heightened: the horror, the romance, the three-way interaction among their characters, the touches of humor that often come at the expense of Edward and Jacob's rivalry — especially after they forge a testy alliance to save Bella from a roving gang of rabid newborn vampires.

Stewart says of Eclipse's positive early reception: "It is a well-oiled machine at this point. We have had a lot of time to establish what this thing is about and a lot of time to consider it. And they gave us so much more money this time. So that is exciting."

Pattinson, looking bemused, quickly clarifies her statement. "For the film. The budget."

Stewart is chagrined. "Oh, my God. No, no. That didn't even occur to me. They gave us so much more money to make the film look good!"

The leads did get raises — Stewart and Pattinson are taking home a reported $7.5 million each plus a percentage of the gross, Lautner gets $5 million — while the production's price tag grew to $65 million, still modest compared with similar franchises.

Yet the few extra bucks seem to have paid off, especially with the effects. Even Lautner's CG wolf alter-ego is more adorable than in New Moon. "Yeah," says the actor, sheepishly. "It was very cuddly. I don't know if that's what we were aiming for."

He waffles over the wisdom of sharing an anecdote about the scene in which the vicious horse-sized beast sweetly nuzzles Bella and she scratches his ear. After a little coaxing, he relents.

"That day I came on set and put on this tight gray spandex suit ..."

"There is dialogue and I talk to him," Stewart explains. "I said, 'How am I going to do this without Taylor?' " So instead of the actress pretending that a massive computer-animated wolf was nearby, Lautner volunteered to be its stand-in.

"Basically, it looked like a Teletubby ," he continues about his outfit. "I had this circle on the face but everything else was covered. It was weird. But, yeah, I stood there and would literally bend over ..."

"I would actually pet his head," Stewart adds.

Pattinson, meanwhile, struggled with Edward's rather formal proposal to Bella, which reflects the fact that although his vintage vampire looks 17, he hails from the turn of the last century.

"I was dreading the day it was coming," he says of the scene that was held until the very end of the shoot. "The first time I read the script, I thought, 'This is impossible.' " References to "promenades" and sharing "iced tea on the porch" as Edward explains how he would have courted Bella in the old days especially stuck in his throat. "It's so earnest. I finally convinced the producers that you can play it with a bit of awareness of not being a fictional character. I'm not trying to be part of a Gothic novel."

When Pattinson finally watched it, however, he was pleasantly surprised. "It seems different when you see it."

Their profiles have grown with each film, and celebrity status does afford them the chance to mingle with their own idols. Although, more often than not, the other stars are the ones bedazzled as they request autographs for their Twilight-crazed kids.

"I took a picture with Ron Howard last year at the Oscars," Pattinson recalls. "I thought it was the funniest thing. I asked, 'Is it for your kids?' He said, 'No, it's for me. I want to have it on my phone.' " Making the situation even odder: Howard's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, is in Eclipse.

Alas, Pattinson has yet to run into his favorite, Jack Nicholson.

Stewart pipes up: "I have."

Pattinson: "What? When did you meet?"

Stewart: "At a screening for Into the Wild" her 2007 coming-of-age drama directed by Sean Penn "He was exactly like you think he would be."

Pattinson, sounding peeved: "You never told me that."

Lautner joins in. "I didn't meet him but I sat next to him at a Lakers game."

Pattinson, utterly exasperated: "What?"

Life beyond 'Twilight'

Next subject. The three are actively trying to ward off post-Twilight typecasting by doing solo projects in between. Stewart and Pattinson, both bookworms and drawn to art-house fare, earned OK reviews but underwhelming ticket sales for their two recent releases,

the girl-band bio The Runaways and the romantic melodrama Remember Me.

But they continue to be in demand for more mature roles. Stewart is psyched to be a part of a big-screen version of Jack Kerouac's On the Road, which starts shooting in August. Pattinson recently wrapped his work on the London set of Bel Ami as a 19th-century social-climbing rogue opposite

Kristen Scott Thomas, Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci. Does he bed all three? "Yes, but they're not like typical love scenes at all," he says.

Adds Stewart: "They're all a little weird. A little edgy. And a little nude." Chuckling ensues.

Meanwhile, Lautner — a natural athlete who played a high school track star in the box-office-topping ensemble comedy Valentine's Day— seems to be angling to become the next big action hero with upcoming roles in the thriller Abduction and Stretch Armstrong, a 3-D adventure based on a toybox muscleman

Did he ever own one of the dolls, whose limbs could be pulled and elongated like taffy? "I don't remember having one at my house, but I totally remember stretching that sucker."

Then there is the next Twilight feature, Breaking Dawn, opening Nov. 18 next year. The fourth and presumably final book is so jammed with life-altering events — a wedding, first-time sex between Bella and Edward, a grotesquely painful birth — that there has been talk of doing two films back to back. And it might even be in 3-D. But the actors can confirm only their involvement.

What has been decided is that Breaking Dawn's director will be Bill Condon, the filmmaker behind Dreamgirls and Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Chicago.

Have they met Condon, who already posted a letter on Facebook reassuring fans of his appreciation of the material and that the film most definitely will not be a musical despite his résumé?

Lautner nods yes.

Pattinson: "When did you meet him?" Lautner: "One day." Stewart: "Did you have a meeting?" Lautner: "No, no." Pattinson: "I literally met him three nights ago."

Stewart, in a mock snit: "Well, he obviously doesn't want to meet me."

What a great fun interview, loved it.x

Rob

Here is the article about Kill Your Friends from the Sun;

ROBERT PATTINSON's army of fans are in for the shock of their lives if he lands the X-rated part he craves.

The lusted-after lad is lobbying for a leading role which will see him Hoover up more drugs than PETE DOHERTY and AMY WINEHOUSE combined, sleep with scores of prostitutes and get away with a blood-curdling murder.

The Twilight heart-throb would be playing sinful record label A&R man Steven Stelfox in the big-screen adaptation of gruesome music industry satire Kill Your Friends.

The novel - one of my favourites of recent years - centres on Steven, who's like the British version of Patrick Bateman - the character played by CHRISTIAN BALE in American Psycho.

Written by former major label A&R man and fellow Scot JOHN NIVEN, it is set in the mid-Nineties and, like Trainspotting, leaves nothing to the imagination.

Music-mad R-Patz reckons it is just the job for him.

A source said: "Rob is a huge fan of the novel.

"He is fascinated by the music industry and is keen to get involved in the project.

"He's already approached producers telling them he wants to play the leading man.

"If he gets the role it would be the darkest part he's ever played.

"It's an incredibly adult character and is bound to shock the tweens who account for such a huge part of Rob's fan base."

The flick is already gaining momentum with serious film investors looking at it.

Drum 'n' bass legend GOLDIE - who is viciously parodied in the novel - has also requested a role.

However, Rob's bid is not helped by author John.

He has confessed to not knowing who R-Patz is, saying: "I'm not a teenage virgin, so how would I know who he was?"

Hopefully you will soon, John.

Rob

According to the press Association, Robert Pattinson has hinted he would like to play fictional villainous music-maker Steven Stelfox on the big screen.

Rob is going for the lead role in the film adaptation of John Niven's satirical novel, Kill Your Friends, which would see him portray the ambitiously loathsome character who takes drugs and resorts to extreme measures - including murder - to score a hit record.

"Rob is a huge fan of the novel - he is fascinated by the music industry and is keen to get involved in the project," a source told The Sun.

"He's already approached producers telling them he wants to play the leading man. If he gets the role it would be the darkest part he's ever played. It's an incredibly adult character."

Hmmm wonder if this is true?

Dont you just love this pic of him ? YUMMMMMS :-D XX

David Beckham - England's 2018 Bid

David Beckham presented England’s 2018 World Cup bid to Fifa and spoke of the "passion and emotion" the nation would bring to the tournament, by declaring "football runs through our veins”.

Becks arrived in Zurich to hand over the 1,752-page bid book which he hopes will persuade Fifa to award England the right to stage the World Cup.

On the day it was revealed that Beckham will accept a role in Fabio Capello’s World Cup coaching staff, the 35-year-old emphasised the England's historic links with football and promised to stage a World Cup like no other.

Becks said “I’m here on behalf of our fans,Football runs through our veins. We are all brought up on it. It’s truly an honour to be here. On behalf of our team, the delegation and our fans, we present you with our bid book.”

The hosts will be announced on December 2, with Russia and Australia also among the bidders, but the FA have made no secret of their desire to use Beckham to promote the bid across the world. England’s most capped outfield player said winning the vote to stage the World Cup would rank among his greatest achievements. “It would certainly be up there. What the prospect of having the World Cup brings is huge. I know because I’ve experienced it.”

In thanking the English delegation Sepp Blatter, the Fifa president, referred to England as the “motherland” of football and revealed that he had spoken to David Cameron who had personally endorsed the bid.

“Yesterday I received a phone call from the new Prime Minister,” Blatter said. "Not only did he express his determination to be behind the bid but he is also behind the World Cup in 2010.

The next milestone in the bid process is Fifa’s technical inspection at the end of August. This ended in tears for England’s ill-fated 2006 campaign when they were judged worse than South Africa and Germany. This time around, however, England officials are confident they will suffer no such setback.

The final vote will be taken by Fifa’s executive committee on December 2. It is expected that the 2018 tournament will go to Europe, where England are up against Russia and joint bids from Spain/Portugal and Holland/Belgium.

Fingers crossed for 2018.
Yes yes I know these last 3 pictures have nothing at all to do with the story but I couldnt help myself he's just so damn pretty! :-D X

Rob comments on being one of Time Magazine top 100 most influential people on the Oprah Show. He still finds it hard to understand why people think he is so important, he said "im a regular guy doing a job he loves." He was also mentioned in People Mag's most beautiful people list, so when Oprah asked him which accolade he was more comfortable with he laughingly said "definately most beautiful. I have no reason to influence people, I just want someone to pat me on the back. Three years ago I couldn't influence my dog to walk"

Oh god he is so humble, its so sweet
